The war in Ukraine has been devastating for children. The violence, forced displacement, and disruption of daily life have shattered the childhoods and mental health of countless young people. Fifteen-year-old Ksenia is one of them.
When the fighting started, Ksenia’s family quickly packed their belongings, taking only what they could carry, and moved to another region of the country. Just as Ksenia began to settle into her new surroundings, their home again became a target of heavy bombing, forcing them to relocate once more, this time to western Ukraine.
By the time they reached safety, Ksenia was consumed with fear, anger, and grief. But everything changed when she learned about Jesus at a Tomorrow Clubs camp. “When the pastor spoke of the hope we can find in Christ, I felt something change in my heart,” she recalls. That day, she committed her life to Jesus and discovered a peace she had never felt before.
After the camp, Ksenia joined a Tomorrow Club and is now a leader, sharing the hope of the Gospel and making disciples. Amid the hopelessness and hardship in the places we serve, the light of Christ is transforming lives!
As Christmas approaches, we’re reminded of God’s greatest gift: Jesus, whose sacrifice fulfilled God’s promise to redeem us. Yet, this gift remains unknown to over a billion children and teens who have never heard the Gospel. Alarmingly, less than 1% of mission funding goes toward reaching them.
That’s why we feel God calling us to a bold vision: by 2030, we want to see 100,000 young people learning to follow Jesus in a Tomorrow Club.
