A Milestone in Romania!

It was a hot afternoon in the summer of 2014 and the sanctuary in the Roma church was packed. “I never thought I would see so many children in our church!”, exclaimed Pastor Johnny. His daughter, Izabella, along with a group from the United States, had led a week-long camp just outside the city of Oradea designed to introduce Tomorrow Clubs to the country of Romania.

Zsolt Szücs, a youth minister with a heart for discipling the younger generation, was part of that same camp. Zsolt caught the Tomorrow Clubs’ vision and dreamed of bringing long term discipleship to kids in underserved communities across Romania. A short time after the camp, Zsolt joined our team as Romania’s first country director and the first Tomorrow Club in Romania opened at the Roma church with Izabella as the first club director. As the ministry in Romania was launched, we set what then seemed like the ambitious goal of opening 100 Tomorrow Clubs.

Now, eight years later, we’re celebrating as TC Romania
passes the 100-club milestone!

The road to this milestone hasn’t been easy. Tomorrow Clubs target underserved communities and many churches, like the Roma church where Izabella’s club still operates, face unique challenges. But as we look back on all God has done in Romania since 2014, we see evidence of God’s hand and perfect timing every step of the way. Many churches like Pastor Johnny’s were looking for ways to reach the unchurched in their communities and the clubs were a long-awaited answer to prayer.

With God’s help and your support, Tomorrow Clubs have been able to partner with more than 100 Romanian churches, bringing a fresh approach to kid’s ministry and enabling them to reach thousands of children and families. As we celebrate this milestone and march on toward the next hundred clubs, our commitment to boldly proclaiming the Gospel and investing in the next generation through long-term discipleship is stronger than ever!
