The Binga district in Zimbabwe is one of the most underdeveloped areas we serve, lacking basic services such as electricity and isolated by unpaved roads that become almost impassable during the rainy season. Sixty percent of its residents live in poverty and rely on subsistence farming for survival.

Access to education in this remote region is a major challenge, as many children cannot afford school fees. Thirteen-year-old Mbappe is one of those children. After losing his mother at a young age, he struggled to find direction and fell prey to drugs and other destructive habits. Soccer became his only meaningful pursuit.
When Tomorrow Clubs launched in Binga, soccer games were organized to attract kids. Mbappe showed up to play, making it clear that he had no interest in anything but the game. The Tomorrow Club leaders accepted him just as he was and began praying for him. They spent time with him week after week, sharing the love of Christ and the hope of the Gospel.

As his relationship with the leaders grew, Mbappe came to understand what it means to follow Jesus. He abandoned the habits that were destroying him and surrendered his life to Christ.
The change was profound. Once a troublemaker, Mbappe has become a bold ambassador of the Gospel. He invited other kids to the Tomorrow Club and suggested adjusting the meeting times to accommodate more children. Our team in Zimbabwe is praying for the practical challenges that remain in his life and actively seeking ways to help him return to school.
Tomorrow Clubs are beacons of hope for kids like Mbappe in communities where hope is hard to find. The training and resources provided by TCI have already helped local churches across the Binga region reach over 5,000 young people with the Gospel and long-term discipleship.
